1967 DODGE MAIL VAN
Lorrie Van Haul is a 1967 Dodge Mail Van, with a 225 ci Slant Six engine, and an
automatic transmission.
She was bought in 1974 from the Houston United States Postal Service for $700.00.
Lorrie was originally painted Gold by the USPS, and was completely stock.
In the intervening years, she has gotten deck-plate front and rear bumpers, and front fenders, new front turn signals, new tail-lights, new rear view mirrors, new horn, new Stewart Warner gauges in a new dash-board, a Subaru reclining bucket seat, w/ a wool seat cover, a new steering wheel, a new roof w/ end caps, and new paint .
I rebuilt the Dodge 225 Slant Six engine in 1986, and have put a little over 25,000 miles on it since the rebuild.
She was running when she was parked in 1996, and has been sleeping peacefully for a dozen years.
I have decided that it is time to get Lorrie back "Up and Running", and so to that end, I have started the reawakening of Lorrie Van Haul.
To start with, she will need a new battery, new fuel pump, new radiator hoses, maybe a new carburetor.
When she is once again awake, then everything else that needs doing will be done.
The Master Brake Cylinder, and the Slave Cylinders need rebuilding or replacing, along with the brake hoses, and I'm sure other stuff will make itself known when the time comes.
This web page is a "phlog" (photolog) of the "Reawakening of Lorrie Van Haul".
